How do I like my NBR extensions? I often get asked this question! Short answer? YES, I love them! I’ve had mine for 6 months now, and to say that they’ve made a difference in my daily life would be an understatement. Not only do they give me full confidence in my hair, but they’ve also made a difference in the content I’m able to create for my blog!
My hair has always been long, and is fairly thin and very fine and silky. I’m happy with my natural hair, but as you might know, I LOVE doing fun hairstyles, especially braids, and adore using fun accessories as well. I’ve always wanted a little more thickness and volume to do these hairstyles, and have used clip in extensions which I really liked, but I think my favorite part about NBR extensions is how truly effortless and seamlessly they work themselves into your daily life. I honestly forget that I even have them, that’s how little you notice they’re even there and get used to them. I can now share all of the hairstyles and braids that I want to every day, and create fun hair tutorials and videos to share with you all! Now that I’ve had my NBR extensions for 6 months and have fully adjusted to them in my daily life, I wanted to answer a few questions that I get asked, and that will give you a little more insight in to what it’s like to have NBR extensions! ALSO, there is a fun video to go along so that you can not only have your questions answered, but also take a look at the process!!
Q: Where do you get them done?
A: I go to The Glossary Salon here in KS, and see Leah! She is AMAZING, and I can’t recommend her enough! She is gorg and has beautiful NBR extensions in her hair, too! She will give you the hair of your dreams, and if you’re wanting NBR extensions, but don’t live in KS, I promise the drive to see her would be worth it, ha! If you go to see her, don’t forget to mention my name, she will be so excited to meet you!
Q: Are the extensions a lot of maintenance?
A: For how much additional hair I have now with the extensions, they are SO low maintenance and really don’t require any extra work on your part each day. In fact, they’ve actually reduced the amount of time I spend on my hair as I can now extend my wash time! I used to wash my hair almost every night since it’s so fine, but now with the extensions my hair doesn’t get as oily! The only main things the extensions need is a good moisturizing shampoo/conditioner, argan oil on the ends to keep them smooth, and don’t use high/excessive heat, but these are all things that I do for my natural hair anyways!
Q: What is the upkeep like?
A : So with NBR extensions you will go back to the salon about every 6-8 weeks to get them moved back up again as your hair has grown out! You can see in the video how this process works, but she basically just snips out the string and then the extensions are free from your hair. She then just puts them back in your hair and they will be right up against your scalp again. I often get asked if it takes a long time for her to remove them, but it literally takes 2 minutes, and you can kind of see that in the video! It’s quick, easy and painless.
Q: How long does the extension hair last?
A: If you take good care of the hair, it will last about 8 months or so!
Q: What is you favorite part about having NBR extensions?
A: Aside from how much I love being able to do all the hairstyles and braids I want to like I mentioned above, I love that I just always have this much hair! These extensions are just always in your hair, no clipping-in when you want them, no painful tape-ins, your hair just always looks full and fabulous! I wake up and just get right to styling them how I want to that day.
