This past week I went to Las Vegas for the first time, and oh my gosh…it was SO fun! The weather was perfection, too. I got my first taste of sunshine and time by the pool for the season and I was soaking up every second of it! I was in complete awe of how over the top and perfect all of the buildings and attractions were there…SO extra and it was just so fun to walk around and see everything! I was definitely happy under the palms. I wanted to share a little Las Vegas outfit recap with details for everything that I wore! I was able to break out some of my favorite new dresses and sandals for the season! I also wanted to share a quick travel guide with a few recommendations and things that I did and loved!
Where I Stayed: Trump International. I absolutely loved our stay! Everything was so clean, pretty, and the service was incredible! The pool was perfection, and all of the food was so delicious. I loved that this hotel was just around the corner from the main strip, which meant it wasn’t hectic or flooded with the typical Las Vegas crowd. It was also smoke-free, and had no gambling, which made our stay much more enjoyable, and wasn’t like a typical Vegas hotel where you walk into slot machine land and a haze of smoke, ha!
Where I Shopped: Fashion Show mall and the Nordstrom were directly across the street from our hotel, and the Nordy’s was so pretty! You must go to the Wynn Esplanade (where the Wynn hotel is) It was SO beautiful inside, and it had all of the designer shops! I stopped at the Dior store to pick up my new bracelets! They had these gorgeous displays made entirely of flowers, and a merry-go-round made of roses!
Where To Eat: If there is one restaurant I would recommend, it would be Giada. I have always been a huge fan of her cooking show, and being Italian, I of course adore everything she makes! If you go, try the Cacio e Pepe, which is made at your table in a warm cheese wheel. Seriously, it was out of this world! Also try the Pasta Fagioli! I tried Milk Bar for the first time (inside of the Cosmopolitan hotel) and it was so yummy! They make their ice cream with cereal milk..so fun and it was really cute, too! I also had to make a stop by In N’ Out since we don’t have one here in KC!
What To See: Um, everything, ha! Seriously though, everywhere you go, there are sites towering over you and they are all so picture worthy! It was an Instagrammer’s paradise, lol! A few main things I want to mention though…
- The Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign! So worth it for a cute pic. I made sure to get up early and be there by 8am. to beat the crowds and the direct sun, and even at that time, the line was quickly growing! Luckily the line moves pretty quick, and everyone was very friendly and offering to take pictures for each other! If you’re lucky, a sweet man named Dean might be there. He is a local that goes to the sign almost every day to offer his time for free to help people get the perfect shot! How sweet is that?? He showed up not long after I got there, and he captured the perfect shot for me! If you see Dean while you’re there, be sure to leave him a little tip, he was the best!
- The main strip. Just spend the day wandering the main strip and all of the sights that come with each hotel! You’ll see Egypt where there are so many pretty fountains, the sphinx and the pyramid. You’ll see New York where there is the huge Statue of Liberty, roller coasters and the cutest city buildings that almost look fake (you can see this all behind me in a pic above where I’m wearing a white dress!) Photo Tip- this spot ended up capturing the perfect shot of New York behind me, and if you want this shot too, go to the parking lot of the Tropicana hotel! You’ll also see Paris along the main strip! Just so many fun things to see, a lot of pretty fountains everywhere, and I love that each section and hotel is like it’s own little world!
- Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian. This was definitely a must-see and one of my favorites! It was just so cool that there was an entire canal inside the hotel, and it literally looked like a little piece of Venice! There are so many restaurants and little shops, so grab a bite to eat and sit by the canal! I was blown away at the entire little worlds that existed inside these hotels and all of the detail that went into them!
- Bellagio and Caesar’s Palace. The Bellagio is known for their incredible flower displays inside, as well as their fountain shows that happen every half hour outside. It’s pretty quick but it’s fun to stop and see! Caesar’s Palace? I literally can’t put into words how HUGE this place is! I walked around outside to take it all in, and briefly went inside. There are also designer shops in this area, too!
- The Flamingo Hotel sign. This was on my list of places I wanted to stop and take a pic and it was so worth it! The Flamingo Hotel is huge and has a lot of different entrances, so it took me a minute to find this specific sign. It’s right off the main strip, just to the side of Margaritaville! Also just a few steps away from In N’ Out! I went right before sunset so that it wasn’t in direct sun, and just had to wait for a break in the crowds. Early morning would’ve worked, too! Make sure to walk around the grounds of The Flamingo as well! They have like a little oasis by their pools with real flamingos which was fun to see!
Weather: The weather as heavenly! In the 70’s, nothing but sun, but not too hot, and no rain. The locals mentioned how unbearable the temps would start to get as we head into summer, so if you’re planning a trip to Las Vegas, maybe avoid summertime, ha!
I had the best time during my stay in Las Vegas, and would definitely go back! I didn’t go for the typical Vegas experience (ha!) but even still, there is so much to do with shopping, sight-seeing, and just walking around enjoying the weather and palm trees, and lounging by the pool! Please let me know if you have ANY questions, I’d be happy to help!
