I spy a sneaky little pup 😉 These would be Ruby approved for sure if she could eat chocolate, ha!

It’s that time of year to be baking round the clock! Cookies, pies and sweet treats galore! During the Christmas season, I always have to have a fresh batch of cookies on hand for Hallmark Christmas movie nights and to go with my hot cocoa. If there is one dessert that will always be my weakness, it’s chocolate chip cookies. I will never turn one down, and I’m always on the hunt for the best one! To me, the perfect chocolate chip cookie is a soft, melt-in-your-mouth, lots of chocolate chips kind of cookie…extra points if it’s warm!
Just last week I shared my homemade chocolate chip cookies on Instagram Stories (@rachelpuccetti), and I got SO many requests to share the recipe! Clearly you all love them as much as I do! With Thanksgiving and Christmas right around the corner, it’s the perfect time to bake up a some fresh batches to take as dessert, or to share with friends and family as gifts! This is hands down the best chocolate chip cookies recipe EVER! And I don’t say that lightly given that I’m always on the search for the best ones 😉 I have tweaked a few things here and there with the recipe, and they turn out perfect every single time.
These cookies are big for starters! You use large balls of dough when making them. They’re also thick, perfectly golden, crisp on the outside, but when you break them open, that’s where the magic happens! If you eat one fresh out of the oven (let them set about 10 mins, I know it’s hard to wait!!) you won’t believe how thick and gooey they are! (Break it open in slow motion for the full effect, haha!) For me, there is nothing better than a warm chocolate chip cookie fresh out of the oven, and these will literally melt in your mouth. Even the following days they will still be heavenly, I know a few people who have tried these and say they’re their favorite the next day! Baking these cookies at a high temp (410 degrees) and the dough is very cold, and leaving the dough balls large and thick is what keeps them from spreading out flat, and achieves that perfectly crisp on the outside, yet super soft on the inside taste. If you know a chocolate chip cookie lover, make them this recipe this holiday season and they will probably think it’s the best gift ever! Santa will thank you too! 😉
Gift Idea: If you know someone who loves to bake, gift them this recipe and some festive new baking tools! Maybe you know someone that just got married, or moved into a new house/apartment, you could gift them a new Kitchenaid mixer, baking sheets and tools and print out this recipe for them to go with! It always makes a great gift and a pretty presentation to put together a gift set of some pretty new mixing bowls, a set of tartan plaid oven mitts, and maybe some new spatulas or measuring cups tied together with ribbon! Hostess gift, new married couple, or even just your mom or a family member, you can’t go wrong with the gift of pretty new kitchen essentials! Fun fact, I used to work for Williams Sonoma, and there are so many ways to create a gift set using cooking/baking essentials!
Stay tuned for my cutout sugar cookie recipe! Enjoy!! XO, Rachel
